Daniel P. McKiernan is of counsel to the firm. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College (B.A., Economics, magna cum laude, 1988) and received his law degree from Boston College Law School (J.D. 1991). Dan has extensive experience and assists in representing the firm’s client in areas relating to property and casualty insurance claims, insurance coverage issues, subrogation, shareholder disputes, admiralty and marine litigation and defense of bodily injury and property damage claims. Dan also assists in handling commercial and business litigation on behalf of the firm.
Dan has handled a significant number of jury trials to verdict, and has worked extensively in the federal and state courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Upon graduation from law school in 1991, Dan served as a clerk to the Superior Court for the State of Rhode Island. Prior to becoming of counsel to the firm, Dan worked at Hanson, Curran, Morrison Mahoney and Gelfuso & Lachut before opening his own practice in Providence, Rhode Island.
Mr. McKiernan is admitted to the state and federal bars of both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He has provided continuing legal education lectures to members of the Rhode Island bar on issues of maritime law. Dan has served on the board of various charities in the greater Providence area and has engaged in a number of other volunteer commitments, supporting various youth sports leagues.
